Nondiscrimination Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Al-Manar Academy, operated by Al-Manar Foundation Inc., is committed to providing an educational environment that is free from unlawful discrimination. This policy applies to all school programs, activities, admissions procedures, and employment practices.
Statement of nondiscrimination
Al-Manar Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, sex, disability, or age in the administration of its educational programs, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletics, or any other school-administered programs.
All students, families, staff, and visitors are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of background.
Religious mission and admissions
Al-Manar Academy is an Islamic faith-based private school. As a religious educational institution, the school gives preference in admissions to students from Muslim families whose values and goals are aligned with the school's Islamic mission and character. This preference is consistent with the rights of religious schools under applicable law and is distinct from any form of discrimination based on race, color, national origin, disability, or sex.
Families of all backgrounds are welcome to inquire about enrollment. Admissions decisions are based on alignment with the school's educational mission, available capacity by grade, and completion of the admissions process.
Students with disabilities
Al-Manar Academy is committed to supporting students with disabilities to the extent reasonably practicable within the school's resources and program structure. Families of students with disabilities or special learning needs are encouraged to contact the school office to discuss how we can best support their child.
As a private school, Al-Manar Academy is not required by law to provide the same services as a public school. However, we strive to be inclusive and supportive of every enrolled student.
Employment
Al-Manar Academy does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, except where a bona fide occupational qualification or religious-mission requirement applies. Consistent with its Islamic mission, the school may require that teaching and leadership staff share and model the values of the school's faith community.
